SXM Airport Outlines St. Maarten Day Activities

Music, Candy and Free Parking for Visitors

SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten (November 6, 2013) St. Maarten Day will have a special ring to it at the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) with musical entertainment and students in cultural wear distributing made-in-St. Maarten candy to visitors.

The early afternoon hours when traffic is usually at its highest will feature Connis Vanterpool, The Jolly Boys and Kirk Williams welcoming visitors or bidding farewell to others at the Meet and Greet Area, and the post-Screening and pre-Immigration areas of the airport.

Visitors will also be able to sample island goodies such as prune and coconut tarts, assorted candy, peanut brittle, cookies, and sugar cake among others.

SXM will, as has become customary now, be dressed up for the occasion, while there will be free parking all day long.

“St. Maarten Day is a very special day and as the major gateway to the island, SXM Airport will make sure that visitors – whether arriving, departing or just passing through – are aware of it,” said Managing Director, Regina LaBega. “For a lot of people, St. Maarten Day will begin at SXM Airport.”
