SXM Airport offers convenient, accessible parking spaces for passengers with mobility needs. These designated, clearly marked spaces are located close to the terminal entrance.
Passengers who require wheelchair assistance can arrange it directly with their airline prior to travel. Trained personnel will guide and assist passengers from check-in to the aircraft and upon arrival.
Clear signage throughout the terminal and a public audio announcement system keep passengers informed. In addition, our Customer Service Team is available throughout the terminal to support passengers who need assistance.
Passengers traveling with service animals or pets will find dedicated facilities at SXM. The Departure Hall's Pet Relief Area provides a clean and convenient space for service animals and pets to relieve themselves before travel.

Departures Information
To ensure a smooth and comfortable start to your journey, Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) encourages all passengers to plan ahead and follow a few important guidelines. During high season and busy travel periods, we recommend arriving at the airport at least three hours before your scheduled departure. This gives you enough time to check in, complete security screening, and make your way to the departure gate without stress.

Most airlines operating at SXM offer online check-in, which allows you to check in before arriving at the airport. If you are traveling with checked baggage, you can simply proceed to your airline’s bag-drop counter once you arrive. Be sure to review your airline’s baggage rules in advance to avoid unexpected delays.
After checking in, passengers can continue to the security checkpoint. Keep your travel documents and boarding pass easily accessible to ensure a smooth screening process. Once inside the departure hall, you can follow the airport’s clear signage or listen for updates through our public announcement system, which provides information on flights, boarding, and gate changes.
Throughout the terminal, our Customer Service Team is available to assist you with any questions or guidance you may need. We are committed to making your travel experience as easy and enjoyable as possible from the moment you step into the airport.
Arrivals Information
Welcome to Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), where we aim to make your arrival as smooth and comfortable as possible. After disembarking, passengers are guided through our arrival corridors directly to Immigration, where our team works efficiently to process travelers while maintaining a high standard of security and service.
Arrivals Information
Once you clear Immigration, you will enter the baggage claim area, which is equipped with three baggage belts. Flight information is displayed on the screens above each belt to help you easily locate your luggage. Our staff is present in this area should you need assistance or have questions regarding delayed or misplaced baggage.
After collecting your bags, passengers proceed through Customs, where you may be asked to declare certain items in accordance with local regulations. Clear signage and friendly officers are available to guide you through the process.
When exiting Customs, you step into the Meet & Greet Hall, where family members, friends, and transportation services are waiting. From this hall, you will also find access to taxi services, car rentals, and shuttle pick-up areas, all located just outside the terminal for your convenience.
Throughout your arrival experience, SXM Airport provides clear signage, audio announcements, and on-site Customer Service to ensure every passenger receives the support they need. Whether you’re returning home or visiting our island for the first time, we are committed to welcoming you with ease, comfort, and warm Caribbean hospitality.
Connecting Flight Information
When arriving at SXM for a connecting flight, all passengers must clear Immigration and Customs, as St. Maarten does not currently offer an airside international transfer system. After completing these formalities, you will enter the Meet & Greet Hall, where you can easily make your way to your next airline’s check-in counter for your onward flight.
