Manager – Quality & Compliance m/f
The Quality & Compliance Department is seeking a Manager – Quality & Compliance. The Manager – Quality & Compliance reports directly to the Executive Manager – Quality, Compliance & Safety and is responsible for the tactical implementation and day-to-day oversight of the Quality & Compliance framework, translating strategic direction into structured oversight activities and supervising operational execution within the section.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implementing and maintaining the Quality & Compliance policies, procedures, and oversight processes approved by the Executive Manager – Quality, Compliance & Safety.
- Managing execution of the approved 36-month audit cycle and directing audit and compliance monitoring activities.
- Supervising the Quality & Compliance Officer and reviewing audit scopes, findings classifications, Root Cause Analyses, and corrective action plans prior to submission to the Executive Manager.
- Monitoring corrective action plans and maintaining oversight of the discrepancy register and corrective action tracking systems to ensure timely and effective resolution of findings.
- Coordinating investigations when delegated and ensuring investigation documentation meets required standards.
- Monitoring regulatory updates and compliance trends and escalating systemic, overdue, or ineffective non-conformance and non-compliance matters.
- Preparing compliance summaries and reports for management review.
- Supporting liaison with regulatory authorities and oversight bodies under the direction of the Executive Manager.
- Identifying training and competency development needs within the section and conducting in-house Quality & Compliance training.
- Monitoring operational expenditures, supporting preparation of the departmental budget, and providing input on resource requirements related to audits, training, and compliance activities.
- Acting on behalf of the Executive Manager – Quality, Compliance & Safety when formally delegated.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Several years of experience in quality, compliance, audit, or safety management, preferably within an aviation environment.
- Completion of an accredited auditor or lead auditor course.
- Sound knowledge of ICAO standards (e.g., Annex 19, Doc 9859) and applicable SMCAA regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in audit planning, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective action management.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
