Security Officer

PJIAE is looking for Security Officers for the Security Department. As a Security Officer you will conduct daily patrols
of the airport facilities and perform access control and screening duties of passengers and non-passengers, including
their check-in and/or carryon baggage and other personal items. The Security Officer carries out inspections of vehicles
entering and/or exiting the airport premises according to the rules, regulations, and standard operation procedures
(SOP) to ensure safety and security at PJIA.

THE ROLE

Access control and screening

  • Controlling incoming and outgoing authorized traffic on premises
  • Checking persons and vehicles on premises
  • Conducting inspections and search of occupants

Safeguarding

  • Performing passenger/non-passenger/baggage and cargo screening
  • Is observant of suspicious behaviors
  • Monitoring CCTV
  • Patrolling and carrying out security inspections
  • Monitoring and towing away illegal parking

Compliance with rules and regulations

  • Ensuring safety and security policies are met
  • Preventing, handling and reporting dangerous situations

Delivered support at calamities

  • Ensuring access to competent authorities
  • Handling calamities
  • Instructing and guiding visitors in a correct manner
  • Assisting with first aid

Other tasks

  • Ensuring proper use of relevant equipment
  • Providing information to passengers and visitors
  • Reporting activities and carrying out other related tasks

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum MAVO/VSBO-TKL or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under stress and stand for prolong periods of time
  • Must be a permanent resident/citizen of St. Maarten.
  • Integrity; upholds ethical standards in work-related activities
