SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten (Monday, September 17, 2014)) - The Princess Juliana International Airport, SXM, is a major sponsor of the Aviation Medicine conference scheduled for September 19 -20, 2014, and will send 15 of its staff to the conference given that it revolves around its core business. The Windward Islands Medical Association (WIMA) will host the conference.

Medical doctors, paramedical staff, and management and medical staff of insurance companies from St. Maarten and the surrounding islands have been invited to the conference. They will discuss topics such as fear of flying, inflight medical emergencies, and passengers with heart and lung problems, among several other matters.

“This is an important conference not just because of the topics that participants will deal with from a professional point of view, but also because the information that will be shared will benefit our staff and the community at large,” said SXM managing director Regina LaBega.

“We are therefore proud to sponsor and participate in this important conference as part of the ongoing celebrations of the 70th anniversary of SXM Airport,” LaBega added.
